Akaroa Golf Club

Holes: 18  Par: 68
Length: 4444m

Akaroa is the oldest colonial town in the South Island, famed as New Zealand's sole French settlement. Here, history oozes from every corner and parts of the town are registered Historic Areas in recognition of the town’s remarkable collection of historic buildings. Akaroa Golf Club is a scenic full 18 hole golf course, set on 28 acres of undulating country at the head of Akaroa Harbour. There are stunning harbour views and the grounds are highly manicured.

In addition to playing golf in Akaroa, we can organise additional activities including a fantastic Akaroa Harbour cruise to see the world’s rarest dolphins.

Our guide says

This course is totally different from the other courses proposed by Amazing Space Golf. A hilly Par 68 course on its day can either be burnt up or destroy a good card. Several par 4’s can be driven but drop offs behind the greens mean that care must be taken.
From many holes the vista of Akaroa Harbour acts as a backdrop to your golf. You have to force yourself to watch your ball, not the views.
The Par 3 3rd hole is a good test. About 140m long, the green is about 30m above the tee. Short and the ball rolls past you leaving a longer 2nd. Long and there are no easy shots off sloping banks with 2” to 3” rough.

A great course in a splendid location.
